The educators of our chapter, or the Ag teachers, strive to expose students to the agricultural industry as well as assist in developing their leadership skills. They teach a variety of classes and coach various CDE teams, look around and get to know your teachers.
Mr. Vazquez is excited to start his fifth year teaching at Orestimba High School. He graduated from the University of California, Davis with a BS degree in Animal Science with an emphasis in livestock. He has completed his Masters degree in Agriculture Education at Davis. Mr. Vazquez currently teaches the Agriculture Mechanics 1 and Vet Science classes. He is the small animal and goat advisor. He is looking forward to another productive and successful year. Go Warriors!
Miss Vincent is excited to be starting her third year teaching at Orestimba High School. She graduated from Fresno State with a BS Degree in Agriculture Education. She completed her Master’s Degree in Ag Education at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo this summer. Ms. Vincent is teaching Agriculture Science, Agriculture Biology, and Agriculture Chemistry. She is the swine and dairy grade project advisor and will coach the Parliamentary Procedure and Vet Science CDEs this year. Miss Vincent is excited to be part of Orestimba’s agriculture department and excited to bring her attributes to the warrior team.
Mrs. Costilla has been at OHS for seven years and could not be more excited to start her eighth year within warrior family. She graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 2010 with a BS in Agricultural Science with a concentration in Agriculture Education and Animal Science. Mrs. Costilla is teaching Agriculture Science, Ag Biology, Ag Chemistry, and Agriculture Foods. She is the sheep and replacement heifer project advisor and will coach the Creed, Prepared, and Impromptu Speaking Contests and run the chapter website and dept. paperwork and finances. She is excited to see the dept growing and can’t wait to see this year’s officer team turn their theme into a reality!
Mr. Farinelli is the newest member to join the OHS Ag Dept. This makes him the fifth teacher. This will be his second year at Orestimba. He is a Chico State graduate and has worked in industry for eight years prior to teaching for three. He will be teaching Ag Mechanics II, Ag Welding, Fabrication, and Honors Ag Science. Mr. Farinelli has a passion for livestock and will be coaching the Livestock Judging team again. He will coach Prepared Public Speaking. He will continue maintaining the OHS Ag Dept. orchard and the school farm. Mr. Farinelli will be advising the beef projects this year and is excited to begin working with our OHS warriors!
